Most of our evenings were spent at the Night
Market. Along sort of the Main Street of Chiang Mai, about 3 to 4
in the afternoon, vendors begin setting up their booths up and down the
sidewalks. The selling goes on all evening until about midnight. |
 |
Shoppers are able to buy just about
anything from shirts, bags, handmade items such as purses, wood carved
souvenirs, toys, and the list goes on. Of course the fun part of the
whole thing is to try to bargain with the individual vendor until
agreeing upon the final price. As a result, a person is able to buy some
nice stuff at very low prices. |

Here is an example of a very cheap toy that I
bought at the Night Market. It is sort of a rubbery, squishy ball-like
creature that can be shaped and formed to the heart's delight. |

This fellow was selling mostly musical
instruments at the Night Market. The one he is holding I believe is
called a pin (if that's not right, someone let me
know).
I bought one of these instruments from this guy. He could really
play the thing too. |
